There are numerous activities for you to take part in during your visit, so that you can fully experience the wilderness that is Corrour.

Our deer management programme has gained a worldwide reputation under the guidance of our expert stalkers. Or you can take part in many other activities over our 52,000 acres including fishing, pony trekking, mountain bike riding, hill walking and nature walks (both guided and unguided). Corrour certainly has something for everyone!

 

Deer Management

Experience a Scottish Highlands tradition under the guidance of some of the area’s most experienced stalkers. Deer management at Corrour has been in practice since 1834 and offers a challenge and exercise that only the Highlands can offer. To find out more on our deer management programme click here

 

Corrour offers plenty of opportunity for fishing enthusiastsFishing

An ideal way to pass a beautiful day with your friends is to go fishing on one of Corrour’s six breathtaking lochs.

The lochs provide splendid surroundings for both the veteran – and aspiring – fisherman. The Lochs contain wild brown trout and wild pike – some weighing as much as 30 pounds.

The lochs are suitable for wet fly or dapping or you can hire one of our boats and go trawling.

Instruction is available with one of our trained fishing ghillies and fishing permits can be arranged through the Corrour office.

Relax on the water and take in the scenery in a canoe, rowboat, or motorboat! They can be hired through the Estate Office and are fully equipped with the necessary safety gear. Operational instruction is given prior to taking the boats on the Loch.

Corrour’s remote location makes it an excellent, and safe, location for mountain biking. Hire one of our new 18-speed Giant mountain bikes, which includes safety helmet, for as little as two hours, and start exploring the wilderness!

Munro climbing on CorrourHill Walking and Nature Walks

Corrour has a number of different walks at various physical intensities. There are over 20 peaks of more than 3,000 feet – called a “Munro” in Scotland – within easy reach of Corrour. You can “bag a Munro” or two during your stay. Click here for more information on Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK, located an hour from Corrour.

You might prefer something less challenging. One can walk on almost any of the roads and paths without having to gain much altitude. There are countless ideal places for picnics both on the waterside and on the hills. For a list of Munros and Corbetts on Corrour please visit this link

 

Corrour’s 52,000 acres of wilderness provides a home to numerous wildlife including:

Pony Trekking

Come to Corrour and trek in some of the most picturesque and un-spoilt countryside. The Estate has 6 Icelandic horses, which are available for hire under the instruction of our qualified guide between April and October. We have a small equestrian centre where instructions can be given for beginners and young children. Camping treks are also available on request, contact us for more information.

Weather in the Scottish Highlands is variable; there is an old saying here that you can see all four seasons in one day. Here are the monthly average temperatures:

January, February, December: High 43°F or 6°C / Low 34°F or 1°C
March, April, November: High 47°F or 8°C / Low 40°F or 6°C
May and October: High 55°F or 13°C / Low 44°F or 7°C
June, July, August, September: High 62°F or 17°C / Low 50°F or 10°C

To enjoy a holiday at Corrour, we suggest that you bring the following gear:

Our get-together's are open to all levels of knitters and fibre arts enthusiasts, and with advanced notice can be tailored to specific areas of interest and experience levels.
